Apparition

Metallurgical Fire Truly floored by this release. Best drum programming I’ve ever heard. The songwriting is unpredictable. Apparition alternates between melancholy and brutality without overdoing anything. Beethoven playing death metal made no sense, but then I listened. It’s accurate. Extraordinary. Favorite track: Apparition.

YomaBarr Like Beethoven playing death metal and it's a high praise, a very high praise. Also, as much as I love Light Dweller this is the first one to get me so deep in the feels. Down with emotional blackmails. Sob.
And seriously - damn you, Cameron. Thanks.

2020 #2. Music has no right to be this good.

bcb723 "Hominal" was my introduction to Light Dweller... but "Apparition" is just completely above my expectations. This still retains the excellent songwriting of the former album, while stretching out with some seriously complex and ingenious arrangements. Really also enjoying how all four lengthy song pieces are presented and how each fits into this death metal jigsaw puzzle. Nicely done, Cameron! Favorite track: Epoch of the Ageless Plane, the Final Dimension Where Time Stands Still.

whatisthis8175 A sweet combination of that raw powerful black metal sound we all love and excellent melodic passages. Definitely gives off the haunting vibe it looks to achieve.

j-kep Cameron never fails to write music that pulls you in. This is Light Dweller simultaneously at its most beautiful, and it's still dirty as hell. Favorite track: Epoch of the Ageless Plane, the Final Dimension Where Time Stands Still.

Oodles_of_Broodles Really hard to pick 1 track on this as it plays as a whole. Amazing that 2020 brought us two LD releases. This seems to be a fully realized version of it and I'm hopeful for what's to come. This man is a machine of awe inspiring music. Favorite track: Apparition.

1.
Shrouded and cloaked in cessation, a burial for the withered. A periphery of cognizance remains dimly lit, languishing with a dying reluctance. Dematerialization, I can feel the separation. The detachment from the corporeal, the tangible body of nature. A reality decaying in the face of my foreign perception. Fading into obscurity, along with but a few arbitrary, repeating anecdotes. Insignificant events echoing from my memories to no end, for what feels like perpetuity. Is this death? A rebirth? How am I perceiving anything? Do I exist?
2.
Portal 10:00
A kaleidoscope like plane of exotic emissions consumes me, like a panopticon of otherworldly elements. I have no body, no encephalon. I am a vessel-less source of cognition gently forced into the unknown. I am self aware, though ignorant. Afraid, yet a surreal sense of calmness captivates me. A comforting sensation almost meant to reassure safety. Is this gestation; a transitory dimension of some kind? Does a destination lie ahead, or is this it? Encumbered by forces beyond my understanding, I have no free will. Reluctance, but no autonomy. The lights get more luminescent, more blinding, like something’s about to come.
3.
Apparition 08:10
Reminiscence manifest; an equivocal restoration of lived experiences ensues. I can breathe the air and feel my surroundings, was this all a dream? This environment is most familiar, but how did I arrive? A catalyst unbeknownst, I’ve awakened in the midst of my significance. I see familiar faces, fading in and out of sight. As if alternating between existence and nihility. Ghost-like apparitions, fearful in expression. Are they encroaching in my reality, or inverse? Are they real? I think I know them.
4.
I have lived these times for what feels like eons, yet they are repeating without age. I am unable to escape these days, this house, these chain of events. I am imprisoned. Confined by my anamnesis, yet afflicted with my cognizance. Why am I self aware, why do I know that I’m here? A silence filled with fraught. I believe I have discovered true meaning. All of life is preliminary. This is existence in its purest form. Cold, long, and pointless; we subsist only to awaken to the dismal truth of our fate. There is no heaven, no place for the condemned, just a perpetual, yet ageless plane of continuation where time stands still. Absolute terminus beyond the interim of our corporeal life. Let yourself transcend beyond what we know as reality, into the uncharted, outer dimensional realm. The end of spiritual life.
