YomaBarr I wanted to get this long long ago but the rage of Hominal and the sheer beauty of Apparition (my 2020 #2) stopped me effectively - I just couldn't get enough of those. Now, high time for this.

baptizednblood This is a very captivating album. Light Dweller takes the dissonant blackened death style and makes something unique and original. This album is very much the sort that you wanna listen to from beginning to end as it is an impressive and immersive composition
Sanity Renegade

Sanity Renegade Post modern tech death done right! Don't be wary of the "tech" prefix here as Light Dweller know(s) how to distill mood and atmosphere using dissonant and chaotic riffage. The densely layered sound offers a lot to be discovered and is highly recommended for fans of the dissonant death metal style. Favorite track: Ignoramus Resurrect.

DŶSENTERY BLUES Really pretty floored by this release. Great production. Favorite track: Incandescent Crucifix.

1.
Glum 04:29
Detachment of mind and body, a physiological divorce from cognition. Encumbered in a cocoon made of stained glass, distorting perception and commonality. An apprehension for assimilation that reinforces a glum detachment. A slovenly boor with a caliginous ethos of solipsism. I see you standing towards the glass, slack-jawed with those vacant eyes. I feel as though I know you, almost like you’re a vestige. Maybe a remnant? It doesn’t matter, you’re probably of no significance.
2.
Bound to the slab; An artificial baptism of force fed alacrity thrusted down the esophagus, hemorrhaging essential vitality. A paranoia of deceit that perpetuates the systemic reluctance. The illumination is blinding, filled with pain and rape. This incandescence, it envelops me, consumes me whole. A crucifix operated with chicanery, where I am left to die, a martyr.
3.
Encompassed by a mural of neuroticism in a body of disquietude. There are voices all around me with corresponding tones. A swarm of dissociative essence encircles, forming a panopticon. Parabola abaft with a vertex of antipathy clamors the loudest. It draws me in, attaining my central focus. Submission without aversion. I have found my home.
4.
A dismal subterrane where all photons go to perish. A lightless monolith looms above, yet resides intramural. A defining characteristic, one that keeps you bound and persecuted like a thrall. Encompassing all introspection, intransigence is rendered fruitless, and is a fool’s endeavor. Unsalvageable and irreversible; aphotic monolith. You never will have an identity, you never will be worthy of one.
5.
Cradel 03:44
An ignoramus birthed, vomited onto the world. Straggling through life, a wastrel of an entity. A non-consensual gift to the world, bestowed upon through negligence and apathy. You never even knew what life was, did you? Don’t worry, nothing ever happens to you. You are finite, subject to limitations. An ignoramus with an embryonic imperative set for perpetuity.
6.
Sloven 05:15
A thin veil of sweat and debris cloaks a pale body. A shrine of piss gleams from the windowsill, casting down its glow. Habitually disheveled and chaotic; a dross dwelling. Listless and imprisoned to 300 square feet of perpetual ennui. There is no value beyond these impaired walls. The daylight beckons me, it serves to me a beacon. Forever squandered and endlessly refused. Nothing is lost, you can rot in peace.
7.
Approaching senectitude with each passing year. A visceral span of anguish regresses back to a comforting despondency. A proselyte of dissolution, detached and confined to reverie. Contrition of a venture rendered pointless. An abysmal existence nearing its conclusion. Nothing left happens from here, no words of mine are necessary.

"... Incandescent Crucifix remains densely packaged and without any wasted time whatsoever: these seven tracks rip and roar across modern (and post-modern) landscapes of demanding but liberating sonic destruction."

- Invisible Oranges

"... If you enjoy tech death with a distinct flair and unique, eclectic voice, then there’s bound to be something – and more likely, a lot of somethings – that will appeal to you about Light Dweller’s sound."

- Heavy Blog Is Heavy

"Sounds leagues better than what most people think of when hearing “one-man black metal project,” and a lot more coherent and accessible than the tag had me expecting..."

- Toilet ov Hell

5/5 - metalliautisti
